Can I keep up the momentum?

Here's hoping I can! I have managed to get in some sort of work out all week minus Thursday.

Today, although it was cold, I got up, put my workout clothes on, and went for a walk/jog. Felt great! Got my 10,000 steps in today as well. Tomorrow it's supposed to be warmer, which will be awesome for another walk/jog session!

Last night, I stayed up finding recipes to make for dinners. Today, the hubs and I wet grocery shopping and spent a ton, but we are well stocked on healthy food supplies. I'm excited to see how some of the recipes we are going to be trying work out. I picked a few I would have never given the time of day to before. Hopefully they are tasty. Tomorrow I want to make pudding for the kiddos. I found a recipe for pudding made with avocados, and I can't wait to try it.  I'll make sure to follow up with how it turns out.

Measurements!

So I completely forgot to do my measurements yesterday. So I will do them today.

Weight:186

I'm up 2 lbs from the winter. And up in flab, I had started toning but all that is gone now.

Right arm: 13
Left arm: 13
Right thigh: 24
Left thigh: 24.5
Neck: 13.5
Waist: 38
Hips: 43
Bust: 43.5

I have also taken before pics, but I am not comfortable posting them as of yet. Right now I am grosses out and disgusted, but motivated.

Yesterday I got 2 workouts in. Don't go getting all excited, they totaled about a half hour between the 2 of them. I did a quick yoga and kettlebell session in the morning and a small office workout on my lunch. I plan to start walking again once Mother Nature gives me warmer temperatures.

This morning I did a quick 15 min workout. A funky dance workout and finished up with elbow planks. A lunch workout may or may not happen since I might have to go shopping. If I have to run to the store, I will definitely be power walking! Lol.

Hooray for exercise

Ok, so I haven't exercised in awhile. I have been lazy (and cold, stupid winter, and bipolar Mother Nature). Yesterday I took a mile walk on my lunch. Something I used to do daily, along with 2 other workouts a day. Today, there was blizzard like conditions outside at lunch, so I decided to do a quick 15 minute workout in my office. It's not much, but baby steps in the correct direction!

Tomorrow I plan on doing an official weight and measurements (hopefully I remember in the morning) to see where I am starting this time around.

Cinnamon honey water

Ok, I have drank 3 cups and it's official I am done. Won't be drinking it anymore. Yesterday morning I choked it down, last night was tolerable, and this morning I want to vomit. It's just not for me. Doesn't matter how healthy it could be for me, if it makes me wanna vomit, it's not for me.

Maybe that's why so many people said it helped suppress their appetite. Because when you're nauseous you don't want to eat. Lol.

My thoughts on oil pulling

Ok, so I did it for a week, I noticed nothing different other than whiter teeth, so I think I may still do it once a week at night before bed.

I have a friend that decided to do it, and she found liquid coconut oil!!! I want to find that, that would be so much nicer than shoving the "lard" in my mouth and waiting for it to melt.

Now I'm trying something new. I belong to a group on FB, and it's ladies who want to lose some weight. We post our ups and downs, things we're trying, achievements and whatnot. A girl was talking about the honey cinnamon water she's doing. Another girl and I from the group decided to try it. My first experience with it this morning  was not pleasant. The cup I'm drinking now is more tolerable than the one I had this morning. I think the key is to drink it quickly.

Honey and cinnamon are supposed to be really good for you. The mixture is supposed to help you lose weight, but honestly that's not why I'm trying it. Anything I can do to try and make myself a little healthier these days the better. Hopefully spring willy finally come and stay and I can start making these lazy buns move again. Winter depression sucks.

3 Days of Oil Pulling

So I have done the oil pulling for the last 3 days. Other than my teeth being noticeably whiter so far I can't really tell a difference. My skin doesn't seem any better, my aches and pains, my insomnia (which comes and goes), or my psoriasis. But I am committed to giving it an entire week, but I did want to check it and update on my thoughts so far.

I would have thought sticking a spoonful of coconut oil in my mouth would make me dry heave. Honestly the thought of it (originally) grossed me out. Now honestly it only sickens me if I think of it as sticking a spoonful of lard in my mouth, which is pretty much what I pictured it would be like before I did it (not that I EVER stuck lard in my mouth). The texture of the oil when I first put it in my mouth is definitely not appealing. I don't like it. When it melts, it's not bad at all. Swishing it around in your mouth for 20 minutes does get tiring. I find myself constantly looking at the clock. I'm actually convinced time either stops or goes in reverse for part of the time.

It's not too horrible where I wouldn't do it anymore, but after my week is up, if I don't see any changes other than whiter teeth, I probably won't continue on the daily routine. Maybe just once or twice a week.

Introduction

Ok, so I have a blog on here for my hobby (rainbow looming) and I have had a blog before for my fitness (which comes and goes with my determination and will power) but I figure I'd make one on here to keep things in the same spot.

I am 32, married, mother of 2. I am obese. But I am not obese as I once was. My heaviest was 209, currently now I reside at 184. I was doing well on getting in shape until the winter hit. I enjoy walking, and this winter has been harsh and it's been too cold and icy to walk outside. The good news is since u haven't really exercise (except for all the snow shoveling) I haven't gained any weight. I have definitely lost the definition my muscles were starting to form, but no weight gain. I am looking forward to spring so I can get back into the swing of things.

Now onto the reason for the blog post:

The last few days I have been researching oil pulling and I have decided to give it a try. So today will be day one, I am hoping to report in a week and state if I notice any difference. I have psoriasis and other ailments. People swear this can cute them, we shall see! It's not going to hurt, so I figure I will give it a try!
